The ITM-LAB RS-DP-12A Automatic Tumble Tester is designed for repeated free-fall and tumble impact testing of smartphones, tablets, earphones, wearable devices, remote controllers and other small portable electronic products.
Through continuous drum rotation, the specimen is repeatedly lifted, released and impacted against a defined striking surface. This allows reliability engineers to evaluate housing durability, structural integrity, internal component retention and functional performance after repeated mechanical impacts.

How Does the RS-DP-12A Work?
Tumble testing creates repeated free-fall impacts through continuous drum rotation.
The operating principle is straightforward:
01 — LOAD
Place the specimen inside the tumble chamber.
↓
02 — SET
Set the required test speed and cycle count through the touchscreen.
↓
03 — ROTATE
The drum rotates and lifts the specimen.
↓
04 — FREE FALL
The specimen is released and falls onto the defined impact surface.
↓
05 — REPEAT
The lift-drop-impact sequence continues automatically.
↓
06 — INSPECT
After the required number of cycles, inspect the specimen for mechanical and functional failures.
