Product Overview
The ITM-LAB RSV Series Automatic Vision Measuring Machine is designed for fast, repeatable and non-contact dimensional inspection of precision parts and components.
Available in three measurement ranges—300 × 200 mm, 400 × 300 mm and 500 × 400 mm—the RSV Series combines precision X/Y/Z motion, an HD digital imaging system and continuous optical zoom for automated dimensional measurement.
With a specified measurement accuracy of ≤3 μm + L/200, repeatability of ≤3 μm and X/Y/Z axis resolution of 0.2 μm, the system is suited to dimensional inspection in electronics, hardware, plastics and precision manufacturing.

Built for Repeatable Dimensional Inspection
A vision measuring machine does more than enlarge an image of a part. Reliable dimensional inspection depends on the complete measurement system: controlled axis motion, optical imaging, lighting, focusing and repeatable part positioning.
The RSV Series uses precision linear guides and ground ball screws on the X/Y/Z axes, combined with servo drive and double closed-loop control. A 1/2" HD digital camera and continuous zoom lens provide the imaging system required for inspecting dimensional features without conventional contact measurement.
Three machine sizes allow the measurement range to be selected around the actual part rather than using the same stage for every application.

How Vision Measurement Works
The RSV Series combines mechanical positioning and optical imaging to capture dimensional information from the test part.
A typical measurement sequence begins with the specimen placed on the glass stage. Surface or projection lighting is adjusted according to the feature being inspected, while the optical system captures the part image.
Controlled X/Y movement positions different areas within the measurement field, while the Z axis provides the required focusing movement.

Which RSV Model Do You Need?
The main difference between the three RSV configurations is the available XY measurement travel and stage size.
The correct model should therefore be selected from the actual area that needs to be measured—not simply from the overall dimensions of the machine.
RSV-3020AH
300 × 200 mm XY Travel
Metal Stage: 450 × 350 mm
Glass Stage: 330 × 230 mm
A practical choice for smaller parts and applications that fit within a 300 × 200 mm measurement area.
RSV-4030AH
400 × 300 mm XY Travel
Metal Stage: 550 × 450 mm
Glass Stage: 430 × 330 mm
Provides additional measurement area for medium-size components or parts requiring a wider inspection range.
RSV-5040AH
500 × 400 mm XY Travel
Metal Stage: 700 × 600 mm
Glass Stage: 530 × 430 mm
The largest RSV configuration for applications requiring up to 500 × 400 mm XY travel.
Select the machine from the required measurement area first. Then confirm part size, feature size, optical configuration and accuracy requirement.
From Part Setup to Measurement Result
Consistent dimensional measurement starts before the measurement cycle itself. Part positioning, illumination and image focus can all affect how the measurement feature is presented to the optical system.

Vision Measuring Machine Selection Roadmap
Choosing between RSV-3020AH, RSV-4030AH and RSV-5040AH should start with the part and the required measurement—not simply with the largest available machine.
Important selection factors include the required XY measurement area, part dimensions, feature size, measurement accuracy and optical requirements.
