Product Overview
Controlled Drop Testing for Large & Heavy Packaged Products
The RS-DP-P Series Precision Drop Tester is designed for controlled drop testing of large and heavy packaged products that are difficult to handle with conventional package drop testers.
Available in three configurations, the series supports packaged loads up to 300 kg, drop heights up to 1400 mm, and controlled face, edge and corner drop tests. It is particularly suited to large household appliances, TVs and displays, packaged furniture, industrial equipment and other bulky transport packages.

Built for Packages That Are Too Large for Conventional Drop Testers
Testing a small shipping carton is relatively straightforward. Testing a refrigerator package, large display carton or 200–300 kg industrial package is different. The package is harder to position, the required impact orientation is more difficult to control, and manual handling may no longer be practical.
The RS-DP-P Series provides a controlled method for lifting, positioning and releasing large packaged products at a defined drop height. Face, edge and corner orientations can be set according to the applicable test procedure, allowing packaging engineers to evaluate how the complete package responds to impact during handling and transportation.
Three models cover different package sizes, loads and drop-height requirements, making it possible to select the machine around the actual test specimen rather than oversizing the entire system.

Key Features
| Feature |
Description |
| Up to 300 kg Capacity |
Designed for large and heavy packaged products, with maximum load determined by model. |
| 0–1400 mm Drop Range |
Three configurations cover different low-height and maximum drop requirements. |
| Face / Edge / Corner Drops |
Supports the primary package impact orientations required for packaging evaluation. |
| Hydraulic Lifting System |
Provides stable lifting and positioning of large, heavy test specimens. |
| Microcomputer Control |
Simplifies height setting and machine operation with stable control performance. |
| Pneumatic Release System |
Uses pneumatic actuation for controlled release and mechanism reset. |
| Power-Loss Protection |
Backup power protection helps prevent unintended movement if the main power supply is interrupted. |
| Heavy-Duty Construction |
Robust structural design supports repeated testing of large packaged products in industrial environments. |
Face, Edge & Corner Drop Testing
A package can respond very differently depending on where the impact occurs. A flat face distributes the impact over a larger area, while an edge or corner concentrates the load into a smaller region.
The RS-DP-P Series allows the test specimen to be positioned according to the required impact orientation before release, making it suitable for evaluating packaging protection under different handling conditions.

Applications
Built for Large Packaged Products
The RS-DP-P Series is intended for applications where package size, weight or handling requirements make conventional drop testing difficult.
Typical applications include large household appliances, TVs and display products, packaged furniture, industrial products and other bulky shipping packages.

Test Standards & Packaging Requirements
Relevant test methods and packaging procedures may include:
| Standard / Requirement |
Application |
| ASTM D5276 |
Free-fall drop testing of loaded containers; applicability should be confirmed for the package size, mass and handling method. |
| ISTA Procedures |
Packaged-product transportation, distribution and handling evaluation. |
| GB/T 4857.5 |
Vertical impact test by dropping for transport packages. |
| GB/T 1019 |
Packaging requirements and test methods for household electrical appliances. |
| Face / Edge / Corner Drop |
Defined package orientation for controlled impact testing. |
| Customer-Specified Procedures |
Test conditions defined by internal QC, packaging development or customer requirements. |
Actual drop height, orientation, sequence, specimen conditioning and acceptance criteria should be determined according to the applicable test procedure and product specification.
From Setup to Impact
A repeatable package drop test starts before the specimen is released. Package orientation, drop height and test sequence should be defined before testing begins.

Which RS-DP-P Model Do You Need?
The largest machine is not automatically the right machine. Model selection should start with the package itself.
RS-DP-P10
200 kg Max. | 0–1000 mm
For packages requiring up to 1000 mm drop height, with maximum specimen dimensions of 1400 × 1400 × 1000 mm.
RS-DP-P12
200 kg Max. | 0–1200 mm
Provides additional specimen capacity and drop height, supporting packages up to 1600 × 1600 × 1200 mm.
RS-DP-P14
300 kg Max. | 0–1400 mm
The highest-capacity configuration in the series, supporting packages up to 2000 × 2000 × 1800 mm and loads up to 300 kg.
